Before the Big Day

What will the weather be like?

April weather is typically 75-80° F and humid.

LO DE MARCOS WEATHER

What’s the best way to RSVP?

We prefer you use the online RSVP option on this site, but if you prefer to return your RSVP card, absolutely snail mail it in.

When is the RSVP deadline?

We are unable to accommodate guests who RSVP after February 15th, 2024.  RSVP here.

I can’t attend the wedding in person. Will there be a virtual wedding celebration?

We will post wedding photos to this site at a later date.

Do you have a wedding registry?

We are registered with Amazon, Target, and Williams Sonoma, all of which have been consolidated into one registry located here.

Can I bring my gift to the wedding?

Due to the logistics of a destination wedding, registry purchases are preferred and can be shipped directly to our home in Oakland, California. Should you wish to bring a gift to our wedding, we ask that only card-sized gifts be given the day of the event.

What’s your wedding hashtag?

#SarahGrabbedTheMike

We will be having a no phones policy during the ceremony, but outside of that please take all the photos you’d like. If you choose to post them, please 1) double check your post to make sure everyone in the photo is presenting their best self, and 2) use our hashtag!

What will your wedding-day timeline look like?

The ceremony begins at 6p Pacific Standard Time/7p Puerto Vallarta and will be followed by a cocktail hour and then the reception. The reception ends at 11p Pacific/midnight PV. The shuttles leave the venue between 11:15p and 11:45p. Please refer to the calendar on our event details page and the personal schedule shared in your inbox for up-to-date information.

Note that the venue is located 1 hour behind the rest of Mexico.

Ceremony

What time should I arrive to the ceremony?

The ceremony begins at 6pm, and we suggest arriving by 5:30pm so that you can be settled in by the start time, and so that we can maximize daylight (we would like to begin a little early). However, we have reserved the entire property, so if you would like to arrive a bit earlier and relax in the space, you are welcome to do so.

IMPORTANT – The Google Maps location isn’t always clear, so please show this to your transportation provider.

Wheelchair accessibility?

The venue is outdoors and grassy, and relatively flat, but feel free to reach out to us to request necessary mobility accommodations.

What is the dress code?

The venue is gorgeous and we want you to look gorgeous too! Please dress appropriately for both the weather and the special nature of the occasion. The dress code is Summer Formal. We suggest a breathable outfit that is between formal and cocktail. We’ve included some attire inspiration below.

Are there any colors or styles you’d prefer me to wear?

Feel free to wear whichever color makes you feel great, but try to steer clear of solid outfits in the shades below.

Can I bring a guest?

While we would love to have the biggest party to celebrate our marriage, we have a strict capacity limit on our venue. If your invitation or RSVP form does not explicitly refer to another person, it is safe to assume that the invitation is for you and only you.

Can I bring my kids?

We love your children, and they are welcome to accompany you to Mexico, but we do not expect to see them at our wedding. No ambulatory children, no exceptions. If you elect to bring your non-ambulatory child, please have an exit strategy for those unavoidable moments.

Will the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception take place indoors or outdoors?

All events will take place outdoors. While we will have a covered outdoor area available, please plan to wear footwear that is appropriate for grass. It will be very warm, so we plan to provide hand fans.

Can I take pictures during the ceremony to post on social media?

We’ve hired a talented photographer & videographer to capture how this moment looks with their camera, so you can capture how it feels with your hearts.

Please do not be that person who must be photoshopped out of the professional photos.

For anything after the ceremony, have at it!

Reception

What types of food and drink will be served during the cocktail hour and reception?

We’ll be serving light passed hors d’oeuvres during cocktail hour, followed by locally catered Mexican cuisine.

I have dietary restrictions/allergies. What’s the best way to let you know?

Please share this information using the online RSVP page, or by mailing in the RSVP card. If you have additional concerns, feel free to reach out via the email at the bottom of this FAQ.

Will there be an open bar?

YES! Drink all the dranks AND know your limits – we will not be scooping anyone up off the lawn.

When will the reception end? Will there be an after-party?

The reception ends at 11p Pacific/midnight PV. The shuttles leave the venue between 11:15p and 11:45p.

Travel & Logistics

I’ve heard some scary news stories. Is Mexico safe?

Believe it or not, people ask the same thing about the US.

If you are nervous, we encourage you to do some research on Nayarit and also enroll in STEP, the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program.

What health and safety measures will you be taking during the event?

We strongly encourage all guests to observe the latest COVID-19 vaccination efforts and to travel responsibly.

Have you booked hotel room blocks for guests?

We have arranged a room block at Delta Hotels by Marriott Riviera Nayarit, An All-Inclusive Resort, and have also provided several recommendations, details can be found on our travel page.

How do I get to the wedding venue? Will transportation be provided?

Shuttles will be provided from Sayulita and possibly Puerto Vallarta. We will schedule the pickup and drop-off locations based on the RSVPs and information provided by you on this page. If you are staying at the Delta Hotel but not in our block, we have noooooo way of knowing you’re there and therefore you will not be counted for the shuttles unless you tell us!

Is there parking available at the wedding venue?

There is very little parking at the venue. Please plan to taxi or uber if you are not utilizing the shuttle. If you do drive, please arrive with a full car (reach out if you need to be connected with others).

I have more travel-related questions. Where can I find more information?

You’re in luck, we have a travel page just for you!

Miscellaneous

Will there be any other events to attend during the wedding weekend?

We will have an informal welcome reception at Al Carajo Tiki Bar in Sayulita! The first round of drinks is hosted and there will be assorted tostadas. Be sure to grab your welcome bag!
